Oasis Escondido offers an unusual and economical alternative to hotel living during your stay in Isla Mujeres. Located in a neighborhood, set behind a privacy wall, and surrounded by banana trees and coco palms in a tropical garden, the palapa house and two studio apartments are convenient, practical and pleasant.
The palapa is a typical thatched-roof dwelling. A loft bedroom for two overlooks the living room where there is a double futon that can sleep one child. A large bathroom and a kitchen equipped with everything necessary for cooking complete the inside picture. Beyond the kitchen, the private patio area with its lush garden captures the fancy of everyone...a natural haven to enjoy meals or just hang out and relax in the hammock.
At the rear of the property are two studio apartments. The downstairs unit has a terrace looking out on the garden. The upstairs apartment has a balcony overlooking the garden and a view of the surrounding area. Both have large kitchens with ovens, ceiling fans,a hammock and air-conditioning. Each unit sleeps two or three people. The lower unit, Studio #2, has a futon as well as a queen bed, while the upper unit, Studio #1, has a double bed, with an air bed available for a third person.
These accommodations are especially appropriate for those wanting to soak up some local atmosphere, rather than just spend time with other tourists. There are several nice beaches on the Caribbean side of the island just a mere two blocks away. On calm days, the reef just offshore beckons with spectacular snorkeling.
Oasis Escondido is located about mid-island, making transportation convenient and inexpensive. Other island destinations are also less expensive to get to from here than from town.
There are numerous small family-owned tiendas for buying needed food and household supplies, and also panaderias, tortillerias, and fruit and vegetable stands in the neighborhood and close by. One can also enjoy snacks and comida corrida at several little restaurants in the area.

| To confirm a reservation, a deposit of one-half of the total rental fee must be received
within two weeks of making reservation. Balance is due on arrival, and keys will not be
given to guests unless the payment is ready at that time, no exceptions, regardless of
reason(payment in full before arrival is another option).
If cancellation is necessary, a full refund of deposit will be given if intent to cancel is
received at least 60 days prior to arrival; one half of the deposit will be refunded between
60-30 days prior, and if less than 30 days, no refund will be given, regardless of reason.
We recommend that guests purchase trip insurance, readily available on-line, to
safeguard against loss of any kind, whether illness, weather or other unforseen
eventualities that might prevent you from honoring your reservation.
One change in reservation dates may be done with no charge; additional changes will be
assessed a fee of $25 each.
